Island Plan Policy H3 Affordable Housing |

Despite concerted lobbying and input from the JHA against the introduction of this policy, a new affordable housing system with a couple of minor changes has been approved by the States by 35 votes to two. The new system will come into force at the start of next year and supplementary planning guidance will go to the States for endorsement after further consultation. It will see the setting of an annual formula for how much affordable and social housing developers need to build on each site based on the demand for homes and the state of the industry. The JHA will seek to become involved with the SPG to continue our mission to protect the tourism industry.
