Updated guidance on events and gatherings were released 1 September and they confirm the limit of 40 people per event. That is unlikely to change until October at the earliest and is a blow for all our members, especially for those involved in the events industry, but inevitable given the spike in cases elsewhere. Let’s hope for better news soon on financial support for those that rely on events. You can read more on the link to the Government website which can be accessed here.
The key changes are as follows:
- Clarifying that not more than 40 people can come together at any one time at a single event or gathering.
- Clarifying that events should not deliberately attract off-Island visitors and should not be promoted to off-Island visitors.
- Confirming that concurrent but separate events can occur at the same outdoor venue (such as two sports matches at Les Quennevais) but that there cannot be any movement of people between the two events.
