Liquor duty increase for 2020
Following our presentation to States members at the start of November, the JHA’s proposal for a liquor duty increase no more than the standard RPI was rejected. We are thoroughly disappointed with this result and have made our feelings clear to both States members and the public.
Given the changes the island will experience over the next two years with Brexit, as well as new policy and liquor laws locally, the hospitality industry will be under increased pressure.
The JHA will be working tirelessly to bring the importance of hospitality to the forefront of political minds, highlighting the quality of life it affords both visitors and those living here.
