New Migration Policy on the horizon
The JHA are set to go into consultation with the Migration Policy Development Board (MPDB) to highlight the hospitality industry’s views. It is felt that the MPDB’s current report does not address the needs of our industry, so we hope to provide the perspective, insight and evidence for them to correct this.
The MPDB panel gathers information from the island’s business sector and stake holders in the community to form a report of recommendations for the Chief Minister. This research and the findings in the report are to help the Chief Minister shape future policies relating to who can come live, work and access public services in the island. Recommendations will be made by early 2020 for the States’ Assembly to have a debate on migration control policy in the second quarter of 2020.
